Editing services

P3 brings a lifetime of writing and storytelling, alongside years of prose editing, to your books.

Raphael Pacheco will be your copy and stylistic editor, and will work with Loryn Pacheco for developmental editing.

Discounts

First Timer. First time clients get $25 off their final bill.

Premiere. The first client to book for a particular package gets a 25% discount. This offer can only be taken once per package, so get them while they’re available. An asterisk* next to the package price denotes that a Premiere Discount is available.

 
 

FAQ

  • After initial correspondence and signing the contract, I will reach out with a digital on-boarding form, through which you can provide formal and stylistic details about your book.

    Once the form has been filled and submitted, and you have provided me with a copy of your manuscript, I can get to work on editing. Depending on the length of the manuscript, the editing process may take days, weeks, or even months.

    For Mechanical Editing, you will be invoiced via email once I have completed my editing pass. After you’ve paid the bill, you will receive another email with a link to download your edited manuscript.

    For Developmental Editing, you will instead receive a document with a thorough analysis of your story, including diagnoses of potential issues and suggestions for fixes and improvements. If you selected a package that includes an in-depth story consultation, then we will reach out to schedule a time for that call.

  • We understand that sometimes plans or circumstances change, and you may need to cancel your services. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.

    If you cancel your ongoing editing services, you will be charged according to the word count already completed.

    We thank you for your cooperation and respect for our time and resources.

  • I can work with numerous popular word processors, including Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and Open Office. Whichever program your file comes in, I will use Track Changes (or some form of it) to edit your manuscript, which makes each change into a suggestion that you can approve or reject.

  • We do not presently offer any editing services for non-fiction. All of our editing services are for fiction book manuscripts and screenplays.

  • I have experience in writing and editing a variety of fiction genres, including: literary, horror, fantasy, science fiction, adventure, thrillers, and more! I do not offer editing for erotic literature.

    We currently do not offer editing for children’s books or chapter books.

 

Mechanical Editing

Words are powerful, and thus of utmost importance to the effectiveness of any written prose. The goal of our Mechanical Editing service is to elevate your writing to its highest potential without sacrificing your authorial voice. As a writer, Raphael knows how precious an author’s manuscript is to them, and so takes a highly communicative and collaborative approach to make certain your narrative intentions are preserved.

With careful copy and line editing, in addition to proofreading, we ensure your text is clear, concise, highly readable, and error-free, making your writing impactful and professional. As a seasoned editor, Raphael bring years of experience across various genres and mediums, and is dedicated to making your content polished to perfection.

Mechanical Editing Package - $0.01/Word*

  • Copy Editing improves quality and readability through grammar, format, consistency, and usage.

  • Line Editing improves style and clarity through sentence structure and rewording suggestions.

  • Proofreading improves quality through mechanical minutia such as spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.
